Feeling stressed?

Life can be busy and incredibly stressful at times...

If you work from home, you may be struggling to maintain a healthy work/life balance. Perhaps you have additional caring responsibilities or you may have health concerns of your own?

Stress is a complex condition that affects almost all parts of the body and may manifest as sleep disturbancedigestive problems, joint pain or muscular tension.

Extended periods of stress may impact wellbeing and cause longer term health issues, so it's best to address it - and relaxation is key.

How reflexology can help

Reflexology is a gentle holistic treatment that will provide you with the opportunity to relax and unwind, away from the pressures of everyday life.

Sessions may help to:

Relieve stress

Improve sleep

Lift low mood

Ease muscular tension

Enhance wellbeing

* In a research study, reflexology was shown to significantly reduce stress levels, being associated with an increased feeling of ease and a reduction in anxiety

* A.J. McVicar et al. "Evaluation of anxiety, salivary cortisol and melatonin secretion following reflexology treatment: A pilot study in healthy individuals". Complementary Therapies in Clinical Practice, 2007 VOL 13;NUMBER3, pages 137-145

Please note that reflexology never claims to cure, but allows your body's own natural healing to take place.

Reflexology can provide support and may be beneficial for conditions including:

  • Insomnia
  • Depression and Low Mood
  • Back and Muscular Pain
  • Digestive issues (including IBS)
  • Hormone imbalance (Mood Swings/Comfort Eating)
  • Perimenopause and Menopause (including Hot Flushes/Night Sweats)
  • Anxiety
  • Headaches and Migraine
  • Fatigue
  • Asthma
  • Sinus problems
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Skin Problems (Eczema/Psoriasis)

What to expect during a reflexology session?

As a reflexologist, I acknowledge that every woman is unique and that I am supporting you as a whole person, not just your symptoms.

Your session will be held in the peaceful and nurturing environment of my treatment room, where you'll have time to talk...

  • You'll recline on a comfortable couch and there'll be dim lighting and gentle music - you may hear birds in the hedge outside the window.
  • I'll apply a natural reflexology balm and use a combination of massage and gentle pressure upon your feet and lower legs, to encourage deep relaxation.
  • The sensation will feel pleasantly soothing and should not tickle your feet - you may feel drowsy or even fall asleep.
  • Your treatment will leave you feeling relaxed, recharged and ready to face the world again.
  • I'll provide some aftercare advice, to prolong the beneficial effects of your session.

Enhanced reflexology treatments

Top to Toe Reflexology is a combined foot and facial reflexology treatment. You'll be treated to 30 minutes of soothing facial reflexology, followed by 30 minutes of balancing foot reflexology - a deliciously restorative whole body experience.

Hot Stone Reflexology uses gentle heat from thermal stones to induce deeper relaxation. This nurturing treatment helps to relieve tension in the feet and lower legs and can be particularly soothing during the colder months of the year.
